One of Shakespeare's most beloved plays, Dream is the fanciful account of four young lovers whose lives intertwine between the hidebound realities of an earthly court, with all its set rules and standards, and a fairy wood where, like Irina Brook's production, fancy flies where and how it will. Spend an enchanted evening in a world bound only by imagination, where love is the source, the driving force, and the goal.
“His words, like eyes, give vision to us all
To gaze upon a world that has no walls.”
In 1970, Irina Brook’s father, Peter Brook, staged his own landmark production of Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-Upon-Avon, changing the course of theatre history by forever un-tethering a stage director from any preconceived notions of a text. Irina continues the magic of allowing script to serve as launching pad for whatever and wherever the mind and heart may wander.
